Here’s a look at some of our new classes and events upcoming in January.
- Most Saturdays at 10:30 am is our “Moving” the Mind, Body & Spirit class. Move your mind into quiet, bring movement into your body, and let your spirit be moved with inspiration! This class will incorporate a little of everything we offer at Meditate Madison. I like to call it “moving the mind, body & spirit.” We’ll be doing so by starting off with some gentle chair yoga, time spent in meditation, journaling a self-reflection exercise, a little more meditation, and concluding with a sharing with those in attendance of our experience. Each month is a theme in self-discovery and sometimes we may switch it up a little. Join us and be moved in more ways than one! Details at this link starts January 12th.
- Meditation 101 class will be both Wednesdays at 6:30 pm and Thursdays at 10:00 am so you can choose which class you would like to attend. If you have many questions about meditation, this class is for you! This class with Deb Phelps, a seasoned practitioner and instructor will answer your questions and provide guidance in starting and maintaining a meditation practice. You’ll learn about countless approaches, benefits, techniques, and schools of practice. And if you’re like most people, you’re probably looking for a simple and comprehensive overview and the how-tos.
- Mindful Book Study will be held on Monday evenings and also Wednesday mornings. The book for January is The Mindfulness-Based Eating Solution This book gives anyone who has struggled with food a realistic and achievable approach to finding peace with food and eating. While founded on solid science, Lyn Rossy offers a supportive, nurturing, and real-life approach to inviting change while still enjoying the foods you love. This study will not encompass the entire book but we will focus on the BASICS (as Lynn calls them) of Mindful Eating, our plan of action, and looking at thoughts and beliefs.
- Meeting Your Personal Guide Workshop with Paul Phelps – This will be a workshop held on Saturday, January 5th. At our October 2018 retreat, Paul’s Inner Guide sessions were popular and well-loved. In 2019 on a periodic basis, Paul will be offering a workshop series that will help you to meet, communicate, connect and create with your personal inner guide. You may call in Spirit, Buddha, Kwan Yin, Mary or Jesus, or you may have other guides that can assist you. Through these workshops, you will strengthen your connection.
We will continue to have our Fit & Function Yoga classes with Sarah on Tuesdays at 6 pm. I’ll be continuing to offer Chair Yoga on Tuesdays at 11 am and Saturdays at 9 am. The Mindful Yoga class will also be offered on Fridays at 11 am. Stay tuned for extra yoga sessions and workshops we will be offering.
