Release the effects of stress on the mind and body in this soothing, candle lit class. Participants will be led through a sequence of gentle restorative Yoga postures that will stretch the muscles of the back, neck, chest and hips. Breathing suggestions and exercises throughout class encourage the stimulation of the relaxation response in the body and calm the mind. Guided Meditations or Conscious Relaxation (Yoga Nidra) may be included. Optional heated rice bags and organic essential oils (like wintergreen) placed on the low back and neck aid in releasing muscle tension. Class will close with a guided meditation. Essential oil (like lavender) will be diffused throughout the room to enhance the experience. Sometimes I may use the Crystal Singing Bowls to enhance the experience.
If you prefer to bring your own mat, blankets, bolster, and blocks, feel free to do so.
