Meditate Madison is a quiet place of refuge where the meditation or yoga practitioner and spiritual seeker is intuitively guided to their inner sanctuary of stillness and peace. Our intention is to create experiences for you that assist with the fulfillment of your best and highest path. We are committed to using our lives for peace, love and light.
Besides meditation and wellness practices, we are a body-positive, yoga-for-all space. Our classes are open to all bodies, all abilities, all levels are welcome. Variations of poses will be provided using props such as blocks, straps, chairs, walls, and bolsters.
Our studio integrates mind, body and spirit that assists guests with inner healing, balance, spiritual awakening, focus, clarity and self-mastery.
The instructors use mindfulness, relaxation and various spiritual techniques to guide the group into into the brain frequency associated with meditation and higher sensory perception.
Gradually, participants find themselves leaving behind the chatter of the mind to experience the bliss of their being. It is our hope that what you experience in session, you will also apply at home for your ongoing spiritual ascension.
Advance registration or RSVP is preferred before you attend due to our limited space, particularly for yoga classes. Please sign up in advance to ensure your space.
Out of respect for the sacredness of this practice and those who come seeking quiet refuge, we ask that you properly prepare for class and follow the etiquette guidelines.
Before You Come
WHEN TO ARRIVE
We start on time. Door opens 10-15 minutes before the start time of each class. Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes before class start time.
Please be quiet in the hallway as there may be a class just finishing their session.
Out of respect for the experience of everyone, no one will be permitted to enter the studio once the experience has begun.
HOW TO PREPARE YOUR MIND & BODY
Deep breathing is a big part of meditation and is hard to do on a full or digesting stomach. You will have a deeper and more enjoyable experience if you do not eat at least 2 hours before class.
Since the point of meditation is to calm the mind and relax, it is also best not to consume caffeine, sugar, or any other stimulants 4 to 6 hours before your class or session.
Set your intentions and prepare your mind with gratitude and other elevated thoughts.
WHAT TO WEAR/BRING
Dress in clothing that allows you to sit or lie down comfortably on the floor.
There is nothing that you need to bring., unless you have a favorite yoga mat or meditation cushion you use.
The space is equipped with chairs, meditation cushions, pillows , blankets, yoga mats, blocks, and bolsters are available for your use or you can bring your own.
You may bring a bottle of water that has a secure cap.
Remove your shoes and leave them outside of the studio. Place your phone on silent.
Our flooring is carpeting since our office is multi-purpose. Yes, yoga can be done on office carpeting.
Enter the studio and find your place to sit or lie down with quiet awareness and turn your attention within. Please refrain from talking once we begin. This is the place to relax and experience peace.
Please note that at times we use aromatherapy with essential oils during some classes, particularly restorative yoga. If you need to be scent-free you might consider setting up a private session.
In reference to our meditation classes, once you get seated and settled, please be still with as little movement as possible. Those newer to meditation can become distracted by even the slightest of sound and movement.
